• Describe the moment that inspired you to get into music production: Watching my older brother mix jungle records, and making music. That was it, 11/12 years old I was chopping up CDs in wave on windows and never looked back.

• What’s your DAW of choice, and why? Cubase Pro. Honestly, because I've been using it for over a decade and I'm used to it. I don't have affinities to software.

• Who are your top 3 producers of all time? I mean. That's an impossible question, it changes all the time - but I can give you right now... - Kenny Beats - Bernard Edwards and Nile Rodgers - Farhot

• Do you have any routines or rituals before starting a session? No rituals, I'm a bit all over the place with my attention span so I tend to just all of a sudden fire up cubase and start messing. Usually a sample or melody will kick me off, rare occasions drums first.

• How would you describe your signature sound? I'd say my stuff is a bit rough round the edges, sits in this weird lane between home listening and club. It's hard to be objective about my own music. I never think my tunes sound like me, but other people say they can tell it's me.

• What's on that master bus 👀? A smidge of comp, and usually Kazrog True Iron.

   

• If you could only use three plugins for the rest of your career, what would they be? SHITTTTTT. Serato Sample, Melodyne, RVox.

• What is a must-have drum kit every producer should have?

• How do you overcome creative block? You know, people talk about writer’s block like it’s this enemy, like it’s this wall you’ve hit. But honestly, writer’s block is creativity. It’s not the absence of it, it’s a part of the process. Creativity isn’t just about output. It’s also about pauses, the spaces in between, and the moments where your mind feels stuck.

• What’s your most recent project?

  My new album! - Incognito

• How do you know when a track is finished? When I stop making edits

• Which producers would you love to collaborate with? CARRTOONS, KAELIN ELLIS, MJ COLE, LSB, OVERMONO

• What's a song you wish you had produced? Yak Sher by Farhot. It's a masterpiece in beats.

• What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received about music production? Original sound selection is 80% of the work.

• If your sound was a movie, which film would it be? My sound’s like if Top Boy had a baby with Drive and raised it on old pirate radio tapes.

• What is a fun fact about you? Even though I make mainly dance music, I don't DJ.

• What’s your long-term vision? I will continue to document my journey as a now independent artist, being fully transparent with all my progress. I see myself working closely with music brands, and documenting that too. Goals wise - I'd like to get more sync placements. I want to work more collaboratively with vocalists in multiple genres.
